Where to stay in Hua Hin: 7 areas across 540 stays in our live feed, Cha-am included, and the night prices rise 1.38 times

Where to stay in Hua Hin is a harder question than it looks, because “Hua Hin” on booking sites is not just the town around the railway station. The system files stays under the city “Hua Hin / Cha-am”, which runs from Cha-am in Phetchaburi province down to Pak Nam Pran. Cha-am Beach and Pak Nam Pran Beach are 46 km apart in a straight line, so a hotel with Hua Hin in its name can sit 20 km from town.

This page splits the 540 stays that rooozt's price feed finds into 7 areas by their real coordinates. For each one it gives the distance to Hua Hin railway station, who it suits, which nights lose rooms and which nights actually cost more, using prices we pulled on 3 October 2026. What this page is not: it is not a paid hotel list, and it is not a review of individual hotels.

Where to stay in Hua Hin: the short answer

First visit, no car, and you want to walk to the beach, the night market and restaurants: stay in Hua Hin town. Its 144 stays sit a median 1.1 km from the railway station in a straight line, and 39 of them clear our bar — the most of any area. Travelling with family and want it a little quieter: look at Khao Takiab. Have a car and want a long beach and resorts: look at North Hua Hin or Cha-am.

On price, Hua Hin sits between Pattaya and Khao Yai: the same hotel cost a median 1.06 times more on a Saturday than on a Wednesday in both weeks we measured. The night to watch is New Year's Eve, 31 December, when prices rose a median 1.38 times and bookable stays fell from 474 on Thursday 3 December to 288.

Every distance on this page is a straight line between coordinates, not walking or driving distance.

How big “Hua Hin” is in booking systems, and how you get there from the airport

We searched the names หัวหิน / Hua Hin / ชะอำ / Cha-am / ปราณบุรี / Pranburi with several guest combinations, then local names and extra nights, 72 searches in all, and got 655 distinct stays. Hua Hin, ชะอำ and Cha-am did not add a single stay beyond หัวหิน, because the system treats them as one city, “Hua Hin / Cha-am”. The last six searches added 1–9 new stays each, so the set is close to saturated for our feed. We kept only stays between latitude 12.30 and 12.90 — from Pak Nam Pran up to Cha-am — which leaves 540.

Hua Hin railway station is 151 km from Suvarnabhumi in a straight line, and Hua Hin Airport is 6.7 km north of the station (all coordinates from Google Maps). The real drive is longer, and for flights into Hua Hin Airport check with the airlines directly.

Cha-am: “Hua Hin” in the name, 25 km from town

Cha-am on this page is every stay north of latitude 12.72: 121 stays, a median 25.3 km from Hua Hin railway station, with Cha-am Beach 26.5 km from the station in a straight line. 23 stays in this area have “Hua Hin” in their English name. If you want to be in Hua Hin town, check the map before every booking.

It suits people with a car who want a long beach. Here a Saturday cost a median 1.12 times a Wednesday at the same hotel (111 pairs), while in Hua Hin town it did not move. 25 stays clear our bar, and on New Year's Eve 62 of its 121 stays were still bookable.

North Hua Hin: from the palace to the airport

This area is the seaward stays between latitude 12.595 and 12.72, from north of Klai Kangwon Palace up past Hua Hin Airport: 78 stays, a median 8.2 km from the station, 22 of which clear our bar.

It suits people who want a beachfront resort and have a car. Worth knowing: this stretch runs almost to Cha-am, and some stays are more than 15 km from the station. On New Year's Eve 47 of its 78 stays were still bookable.

Hua Hin town: walk to everything, and the most stays that clear our bar

Town on this page is the stretch between latitude 12.48 and 12.595 that sits closer to the Hua Hin town centre in rooozt's area registry than to Khao Takiab: 144 stays, a median 1.1 km from the station. Chatchai night market is 0.4 km from the station, and Klai Kangwon Palace 2.6 km, in a straight line.

It suits first-timers, people without a car, and anyone who wants to walk to the beach, restaurants and markets. 39 stays clear our bar, the most of any area, and a Saturday cost the same as a Wednesday at the same hotel (median 1.00, 127 pairs). On New Year's Eve bookable stays fell from 130 on Saturday 14 November to 82.

Khao Takiab: quieter than town, not too far

Khao Takiab is the stretch between latitude 12.48 and 12.595 that sits closer to the Khao Takiab centre in rooozt's area registry than to town: 96 stays, a median 4.4 km from the station. Wat Khao Takiab is 6.5 km from the station in a straight line. 22 stays clear our bar.

It suits families and couples who want a quieter beach but still want town close by. On New Year's Eve bookable stays fell from 85 to 50.

Khao Tao and the west side: few options

Khao Tao is the stays between latitude 12.43 and 12.48: only 20, a median 11.4 km from the station, with Khao Tao Beach 12.4 km away in a straight line. 3 clear our bar, and on New Year's Eve only 6 of 20 were still bookable — the lowest share of any area.

The west side is stays inland, west of longitude 99.93: 27 of them, a median 7.2 km from the station, 2 clearing our bar. It suits people who are not here for the beach. Both areas have few options, so the stay cards below do not give them their own card.

Pranburi–Pak Nam Pran: the farthest and the quietest

This area is the stays between latitude 12.30 and 12.43: 54 stays, a median 23.1 km from the station, with Pak Nam Pran Beach 20.6 km away in a straight line.

It suits people with a car who really want to get away. The downside is that only 7 stays clear our bar, and on New Year's Eve bookable stays fell from 50 to 26 — about half.

How many rooms are left, night by night: about half on New Year's Eve

We priced the same 540 stays one night at a time, 2 adults, 1 room, 1 night, pulled on 3 October 2026. Wednesdays in November: 492–502 bookable. Saturday 14 November: 489. Saturday 5 December (Father's Day, with a substitute holiday on Monday 7 December): 449. New Year's Eve, 31 December: 288.

Something we did not expect: on Saturday 21 November the whole set fell to 435, because Cha-am alone dropped from 113 the Saturday before to 77, while Hua Hin town went from 130 to 123. We have not found an announced event that explains it (searched 3 October 2026). If you are going to Cha-am that night, check rooms earlier than usual.

Checked a second way: searching หัวหิน the way anyone would, the results for Saturday 21 November held 35 stays in Cha-am against 52 for Saturday 14 November — the same direction — and the prices in those results matched our same-set pull almost everywhere, for example 202 of 205 stays on 14 November. The limit: that search returns about 180–209 stays a night, so it cannot count missing rooms across the whole city.

Hua Hin stay prices: Saturdays 1.06 times Wednesdays, New Year's Eve 1.38 times

Comparing the same hotel within the same week, Saturday 14 November against Wednesday 11 November gives a median 1.06 from 481 pairs (258 higher, 212 unchanged), and Saturday 21 November against Wednesday 18 November is also 1.06, from 425 pairs. Measured the same way, Pattaya came out at 1.00 and Khao Yai at 1.10. By area, Hua Hin town's Saturday median was 1.00 (127 pairs) and Cha-am's 1.12 (111 pairs); no other area reached 100 pairs, so we give no median for them.

The long-weekend Saturday, 5 December, against Thursday 3 December is a median 1.10 from 441 pairs, but against Saturday 21 November it is 1.00 from 380 pairs — it costs what an ordinary Saturday costs, not more because of the long weekend. The night that stands out is New Year's Eve: Thursday 31 December against Thursday 3 December is a median 1.38 from 276 pairs, 199 higher and 70 unchanged, and a quarter of hotels rose 1.88 times or more.

What the second method shows: only 76 stays appeared in the ordinary search results on both 3 December and 31 December — too few to conclude — and that set's median sits below 1.38 because search results do not show every stay. The 1.38 comes from the same set of hotels, 276 pairs. Ratios use each hotel's lowest room rate on the day we pulled the feed, not the price you will get, and we give no per-area New Year's Eve figure because no area reached 100 pairs.

Which months are dry in Hua Hin: October is the wettest

We do not yet have a climate series at Hua Hin's own coordinates, so we use rooozt's two reference points: Phetchaburi province (60.6 km from Hua Hin railway station) and Prachuap Khiri Khan (85.0 km), monthly means for 2016–2025 from ERA5. October is the wettest month at both points, 232–266 mm. November drops to 91–129 mm and December to 21–37 mm.

So this coast dries out later than many people expect: if you want clear skies, December to February beats November. Treat these as a range, not a reading at Hua Hin itself, and as history, not a forecast for your trip.

Picking an area quickly

If you are still unsure, ask one question: where do I want to be able to walk on this trip?

  • First visit, no car, want to walk to the beach, markets and restaurants: Hua Hin town
  • With family, want it quieter than town but still close: Khao Takiab
  • Have a car, want a beachfront resort: North Hua Hin
  • Have a car, want a long beach and no daily trips into Hua Hin: Cha-am — but check Saturdays first
  • Really want to get away: Pranburi–Pak Nam Pran, with few stays that clear our bar
  • Found a hotel with Hua Hin in its name: open the map and check where it is before you book

What this page is not

Here is what this page does not promise.

  • It is not a paid hotel list. The stays in the cards are chosen with the same rule in every area.
  • Room counts and price ratios are from the day we pulled the feed, 3 Oct 2026. They are not a forecast and not the price you will get.
  • 540 is the number of stays our feed finds between latitude 12.30 and 12.90, not every stay in Hua Hin and Cha-am. Stays the system files under the same city but outside that band (deeper inland towards Pa La-U, for example) are not counted.
  • We do not know why Cha-am lost rooms on Saturday 21 November. It is an observation from the data, not a claim that an event is on.
  • The royal cremation ceremony is scheduled for 14–19 Dec 2026. If you travel in mid-December, check provincial announcements about festivities before you go.

Frequently asked questions

Where should first-timers stay in Hua Hin?
Hua Hin town. Its 144 stays sit a median 1.1 km from the railway station in a straight line, within walking distance of the beach, the night market and restaurants, and 39 clear our bar — the most of any area. If you want it quieter but still close to town, look at Khao Takiab, a median 4.4 km from the station.
Is it better to stay in Cha-am or Hua Hin?
Without a car and wanting to walk around, choose Hua Hin town. With a car and wanting a long beach, Cha-am works — but its stays are a median 25.3 km from Hua Hin railway station, and a Saturday cost a median 1.12 times a Wednesday there, while Hua Hin town did not move (pulled 3 Oct 2026).
Are Hua Hin hotels more expensive on Saturdays?
Slightly. The same hotel cost a median 1.06 times more on a Saturday than on a Wednesday in the same week, across both 481 and 425 pairs, pulled on 3 Oct 2026. Most of the difference is outside town: Hua Hin town's median was 1.00 and Cha-am's 1.12.
Is Hua Hin fully booked for New Year?
Not yet. As of 3 Oct 2026, 288 of 540 stays could still be booked for 31 December, but the same hotels cost a median 1.38 times more than on Thursday 3 December (276 pairs). The areas with the smallest share left were Khao Tao, 6 of 20, and Pranburi, 26 of 54.
How far is Hua Hin from Suvarnabhumi?
Hua Hin railway station is 151 km from Suvarnabhumi in a straight line, using Google Maps coordinates; the real drive is longer. Hua Hin Airport is 6.7 km north of the station in a straight line — for flights into it, check with the airlines directly.

Where the numbers come from: Room counts and price ratios come from rooozt's price feed, pulled on 3 October 2026. We first listed every stay we could find (searching หัวหิน / Hua Hin / ชะอำ / Cha-am / ปราณบุรี / Pranburi × 4 guest combinations × 2 nights, then local names and extra nights, 72 searches, 655 stays, of which 540 lie between latitude 12.30 and 12.90), then priced that same set for every night, 2 adults, 1 room, 1 night, lowest room rate only. Areas come from the feed's coordinates: Hua Hin town and Khao Takiab use centres from rooozt's area registry; the other areas use the latitude and longitude lines given under the table. Other reference points from Google Maps: Hua Hin railway station, Chatchai night market, Klai Kangwon Palace, Wat Khao Takiab, Hua Hin Airport, Khao Tao Beach, Pak Nam Pran Beach, Cha-am Beach and Suvarnabhumi. The 7 Dec 2026 substitute holiday is from ttb bank's 2026 holiday notice. Rain and temperature are 2016–2025 monthly means from ERA5 (via Open-Meteo) at the Phetchaburi and Prachuap Khiri Khan province coordinates, Hua Hin's reference points across rooozt — historical statistics, not a forecast. All distances are straight lines between coordinates, not walking or driving distance.
