Oct–Nov — East Asia's autumn-colour season
Seoul goes first: from late October to mid-November the maples and ginkgos around Gyeongbokgung Palace and Namsan turn together, in light-jacket weather. Kyoto follows, with koyo peaking mid-November to early December — Kiyomizu-dera and Arashiyama in this window are the defining images of Japan's whole year, and many temples run season-only light-ups. Tokyo gets its golden ginkgo avenue at Meiji Jingu Gaien around late November, then flips citywide into winter-illumination mode the moment December arrives.
These three are the book-earliest group on this list, because autumn colour is a short 2–4 week window that the whole world wants at the same time.
Nov–Apr — Thailand enters high season
Phuket becomes itself again once the monsoon retreats around November: the sea calms enough for boats, island trips run at full schedule, and our 10-year rain figures say Jan–Mar are its three driest months (34–78 mm/month). Hong Kong in November–December is cool and dry enough for full days of city walking or hiking, plus WinterFest lights on both sides of Victoria Harbour. Taipei pairs cool night-market weather with Beitou onsen season and the Taipei 101 fireworks, one of Asia's most famous countdowns. Dec–Feb — Hokkaido snow
